A contemporary, minimalist space - OK, that's fine. But NO glasses of ANY kind (wine in a large coffee cup??), no kitchen towels or napkins (made do with a bath towel), and a dirty plate and greasy, cheese-covered broiler pan did not make a good impression. A broken refrigerator and the non-functioning kitchen can lights did not help, either. It's all of the little things that matter in my opinion and several were neglected here. The host was helpful but being remote, could not help, I assume.
